GCI President and CEO Ron Duncan to Address Forum
Ron Duncan is the President, CEO and Co-Founder of GCI. Duncan serves on the Board of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association. He is past Chairman of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation and the Alaska Science and Technology Foundation. Prior to starting GCI, Duncan founded an Alaska-based cable television company and was a partner at a management and economic consulting firm. He has also served as an assistant project director at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Metropolitan Planning and Research. Duncan is a commercial pilot with a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

At the Forum, Mr. Duncan will discuss the role of the knowledge-based economy in Alaska¹s future, including how to better train and prepare Alaskans to fill high-tech jobs. Frequently, Alaska falls short in educating a deployable workforce that is ready to service the burgeoning knowledge-based economy. Duncan will discuss the shift toward a ³brain-powered² economy and how to position Alaskans at the forefront of the next generation in technological readiness.
