Commonwealth North Dinner for Don Young

Commonwealth North will Honor Congressman for All Alaska Don Young with the Walter J. Hickel Award for Distinguished Public Policy Leadership on Sunday, June 27, 2004. The reception is at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 in the beautiful new "C" Concourse at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Honorary co-chairs for the event are Governor Frank H. Murkowski, U.S. Senators Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski.

During his tenure in the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Don Young and his wife Lu have been tireless advocates for Alaskan issues. His influential position as Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has been invaluable to the state of Alaska and its development. This award was inaugurated in 1999 on the 80th birthday of Governor Walter J. Hickel, with the second award presented to U.S. Senator Ted Stevens and the third award to Governor Jay Hammond.
