URGENT: Seminar Moved to New Meeting Room in Dirksen G-50!

Due to last-minute Senate schedule changes beyond our control, we've been forced to move Monday's Leadership Forum seminar to the building next door. The event has moved from the Hart Senate Office Building Room 216 to the Dirksen Senate Office Building Room G-50.

The best way to access Dirksen G-50 is from the entrance on C Street, toward the center of the building.  Due to security zones, if you're in a vehicle, the closest access is either at 1st and D or 1st and Constitution, and you will need to walk one block.

If you're not sure where to go, click on this link for a map of the area: http://www.afnevents.org/leadershipforum/event_location.html. Someone will be posted at the old location to redirect any participants who do not get this notice before Monday morning.

If you have not registered for this free event, please do so now because time is running out! To secure a space, register online now by going to http://www.afnevents.org/leadershipforum/register_info.html

Gale NortonU.S. Interior Secretary Gale Norton to Attend Monday's Seminar

U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton will be on hand on Monday from about 8:45 to 9 a.m. to greet Leadership Forum participants before the Forum begins.

Norton was sworn in as U.S. Secretary of the Interior in January 2001 and is the first woman to head the department. She has made what she calls the four "C's" the cornerstone of her tenure: Communication, Consultation, Cooperation and Conservation. During her term, Norton has supported such initiatives as restoration of the Florida Everglades and reducing maintenance backlogs within the National Park Service and the National Wildlife Refuge system.

Norton served as Colorado's Attorney General from 1991 to 1999 and represented the state and 45 others in the case that resulted in a $206 billion national tobacco settlement. She worked as Associate Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior prior to that.

Norton is a graduate of the University of Denver School of Law.
